The Orchids Sang To The Birds|Dr.Achinglu Kamei

Sketch credit: Kadamgailiu Kahmei
The bamboo danced
The orchids sang to the birds
The happy tidings

The lone sojourner
Wafted through the bamboos
Cicadas chorushed

Reminiscing home
Flashes of spring passing by
Surviving lockdown

Raengan stone steps are
Silent testimony of
Ancestors’ story

Work on courageous
Your story too will be
Woven and preserve

Together we fight
Corona who passed by
Throughout the mountains

Working together
Soon we will overcome
Make ancestors proud

The sun shines, spring stays
The orchids sang to the birds
The happy tidings
