The Bible clearly warns us of the false prophets and false messiahs. And I believed all these prophesies are coming true.
“For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect” (Mathew 24:24).

“For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths” (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

Read also 2 Peter 2, Mathew 23:1-29, Titus 1:6-16, Mathew 7:15-20,  1 John 4: 1-6, 2 Peter 3:14-18,  Acts 20: 28-30.

There have been a number of Christ wannabes. Some false Christ incarnate worth mentioning in this context includes:
 1. Ann Lee (Shakers) in the 18th century.
2. Arnold Potter (He died in an attempt to ascend into heaven by jumping off a cliff), John Nichols Thom, William W. Davies in the 19th century.
3. John Hugh Smyth Pigott, Lou de Palingboer, Krishna Venta, Sun Myung Moon, Jim Jones (Known for the mass suicide after consuming cyanide) in the 20th century.
Here I have choked out three prominent self-proclaimed messiahs in the 21st century that has caught my attention among many others.
1. Alan John Miller (1962-), commonly known as AJ Miller is an Australian, who founded the Divine Truth Movement with his wife Mary Suzanne Luck who identifies herself as Mary Magdalene. AJ Miller claims himself to be the Jesus of Nazareth. He is a very charismatic leader with followers from around the world. AJ Miller is based in the outskirt of Queensland, Australia who effectively employed technology in propagating his ideas and thinking.

2. Inri Christo (1948-), He is a Brazilian who claims to be Jesus incarnate in 1969 and is a very controversial figure, known for his outrageous opinion on evolution, birth control, atheism, capitalism etc. 9 out of 12 of Christo’s disciples are women. Christo has been detained by police for more than 40 times because of his statements. He and his so-called disciples live in a compound surrounded by barbed wire and electric fence outside of Brasilia, Brazil, in a town he has named New Jerusalem.

3. Sergey Torop (1961-), The Russian who claims to be Jesus incarnate, known as Vissarion who founded the Church of Last Testament in Siberian Taiga, Russia. He has about 4000 followers living in the settlements and about 10,000 followers worldwide. The location where the Vissarion resides is one of the most picturesque views on earth. You can simply fall in love with the way of life that is portrayed in the media.

All of their teachings, commentaries, and documentaries are available on various YouTube channels. And all the above personalities are accused of advancing cult movement.
