Brief Biography of Kh.Arei|Ex President Inpui Naga Union

Kh. Kadireiba, also known as Kh. Arei was born on March 1, 1953 (Sunday) at Oktan Village to Kh. Keihuamang and Kh. Kadinganlu. He was baptized on June 5, 1968, by ZG. Dinthuiyang, the then Supt. Pastor of Zeliangrong Association No. 4. He passed the Matriculate exam in 1976, the Higher Secondary (then known as Pre-University Course, PUC) in 1978, and the Bachelor of Arts (Pass Course) in 1986. 

He married Miss NK. Namthuamdinlu (Manteilu) d/o NK. Muliangjinang (Miraiba) of Nungtek village on May 31, 1978. Unfortunately, she went to be with the Lord on June 26, 1986. Kh. Arei married a second time with Miss Pr. Sangjuanlu d/o Pr. Thuankinang of Pungmon village on March 5, 1989. He has 5 sons, 2 daughters, and 7 grandchildren.

Kh. Arei lived well. He was a diligent person and never shied away from hard work. He was respected in his home and his community. He was a loving father and a faithful husband. He also served the Inpui tribe in various capacities and earned the trust and praise of his people. He was a God-fearing man who sought after wisdom even in his last days. He was trustworthy and honorable.

Few significant events in the life of Kh. Arei:

1. Born on March 1, 1953, Sunday at Oktan Village.

2. Baptized on June 5, 19688 by ZG. Dinthuiyang, the then Supt. Pastor of Zeliangrong Association No. IV, at Ijeirong, Ramkaangtuili.

3. Passed Matriculate exam in 1976 from Manipur Board.

4. Completed Pre-University Course (PUC) in 1978 from DM College, affiliated to Guwahati University.

5. Married Miss. NK Namthuamdinlu on May 31, 1978, at the age of 25. She went to be with the Lord on June 26, 1986.

6. Assistant teacher in Rose English School, Haochong from 1979-1981.

7. Family moved to Haochong Village in 1982.

8. Principal, Rose English School 1982-1986.

9. Bachelor of Arts (Pass Course) in 1986 from Manipur University.

10. Appointed as Asst. Teacher under Tamenglong Autonomous District Council in 1988.

Promoted to Head Master in 1991.

11. Married Miss. Pr. Shangjuanlu d/o Pr. Thuankinang on March 5, 1989.

12. He passed away on June 22, 2018, after having lived 65 good years.

Mr. Kh Arei also held various public offices during his lifetime and contributed to the Inpui community. The following are noteworthy.

1. General Secretary of Kabui Naga Students Union Manipur (KNSUM) for 1 term from 197____.

2. President of Kabui Naga Students Union Manipur (KNSUM) for 2 terms from 1984-1989. Under his leadership, KNSUM organized two Conferences and an expedition trip to Siroi Hills, Ukhrul.

3. Education Secretary, Zeliangrong Students’ Union, Manipur, Assam & Nagaland for 1 term, 197____.

4. Finance Secretary, Honorary of Kabui Naga Baptist Association (KNBA), 1991.

5. General Secretary, Haochong Range Development Demand Committee, 1991-1994. General Secretary cum Cashier of the same from 1993-1994.

6. Chairman, Alpha Christian Academy (ACA) Haochong, KNBA, 1993-1994.

7. Secretary, Bakuwa Village Authority from 1993-1997.

8. Building Secretary (Thatch roof), Bakuwa Baptist Church 1997.

9. Treasurer, Bakuwa Baptist Church, 2004-2006.

10. Children Church Teacher, 2005-2006.

11. INBCA Executive member for 1 term 2005-2006.

12. He was elected President, Inpui Naga Union by the People’s Convention at Bakuwa Village on February 27, 2010, for a term of three years. It was during his presidency that the Inpui tribe got recognized by the Government of India on January 9, 2012. The Inpui Tribe celebrated its recognition on April 25, 2012, at Haochong Village. The other notable characteristic of his presidency was the unity that he forged amongst the Inpui people.

13. Member of 4 tribes (Zeliangrong Inpui) Joint Working Committee for Common Platform, 2011-2013.

14. Member of ‘Zeliangrong Inpui Elders’ Forum: A Peace Mission, 2012-2013.

15. Chairman, New Building, Bakuwa Baptist Church, 2016-2017.

16. Co-Chairman, Inpui Christian Centenary Celebration Committee, 2014. The Inpui Christian Centenary was celebrated at Bakuwa Village, the original village of NK. Namrijinang Maipak from December 6 - 8, 2014.

17. Advisor of Inpui Naga Union, from 2013-2018.

18. He served as a member of the Read and Review Committee of Inpui Bible Translation.
